Welcome to the Hart County Charter System’s website! The Hart County Charter System consists of five schools in the district — Hartwell Elementary, North Hart Elementary, South Hart Elementary, Hart County Middle School, and Hart County High School — each of which have their own websites with links located under the “Schools'' tab. On our website you will find up to date information regarding schools, events, important announcements, resources for students, parents and employees. In addition, resources for parents, such as nutrition menus, student handbooks, and bus routes, can be found under the “Parents” tab. Schools Seek Input - Annual Parent Survey
The elementary schools throughout Hart County and the Hart County Middle School, would like to invite parents/guardians to complete the annual Parent Survey. The survey will be available online March 18-March 29. The survey will be posted on each school’s website along with a QR Code beginning March 18. The QR code will allow easy access to the survey from a cell phone. Paper copies are an option and can be requested from each school. If you have questions or would like to request a paper copy of the survey, please contact your child’s school.

BOE Regular Meeting
The Hart County Board of Education (BOE) will have a regular meeting on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Hart County BOE office located at 284 Campbell Drive, Hartwell.

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent and teacher conferences for all schools will be held from 1:30-7:30PM on March 21, 2024. Hart County Charter Schools are committed to becoming actively involved with all parents. Reserve an appointment to meet with your child’s teacher. We look forward to seeing you and working together to support our students!

Pre-Kindergarten Registration
Pre-K Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024 and from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Hart County Agriscience Center, located at 1951 Bowman Highway, Hartwell. An interpreter will be available on Monday, April 22 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Friday, April 26 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Parents should plan to bring the child they are registering with them to registration. Forty slots are available per school. Slots will be filled using a lottery process.
Who can register?
- Any child who will be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2024
- Any child who is a resident of Georgia

- custodial papers or legal guardianship documentation
- child’s Medicaid card
- proof of food stamps, TANF, and/or SSI

What do I bring to register?
- Child Proof of age – Original Birth Certificate (not a copy)
- Parent/Guardian Picture ID
- Proof of Georgia residence
- Ga. Certificate of Immunization Form 3231
- Original Social Security Card for the CHILD
**Examples of proof of residency: Current (within 60 days) utility bill from Ga. Power, Hart EMC, or Hart Communications (land line only); property tax bill; deed or lease agreement (notarized)

Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration for the 2024-2025 school year will take place on the following dates:
North Hart Elementary: Tuesday, April 23, 2024Hartwell Elementary: Wednesday, April 24, 2024South Hart Elementary: Thursday, April 25, 2024Registration will be from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. each day at each respective school. An interpreter will be available each day from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Parents should plan to bring their children with them to registration, and register at the school zoned for their home address. Your child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2024 to register.What to expect?- Complete Registration Form

- Hearing, Dental, BMI, and Vision

- Process may take an hour or longer
