Hart County High School is recognizing multiple students who received national academic awards this year. Six AP Scholars and three College Board National Recognition Program awardees were recognized by Principal Kevin Gaines on Aug. 31.

“Our students are to be commended for their academic achievements, and our teachers are to be commended for their instructional efforts. The awarded honors exemplify the district's vision of educational excellence as well as the charter goals of high expectations and college and career preparation,” Superintendent Jennifer Carter said.

“As a school, we want to be known for excellence, and when students are being recognized by College Board then they are certainly excelling,” Hart County High School Principal Kevin Gaines said. “HCHS is very fortunate to offer the number of AP and Dual Enrollment classes we do.”

Every fall, the AP Program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on multiple AP Exams. AP Scholar distinction is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams, and AP Scholar with Honor distinction is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
