High School, Middle School TSA Teams Notch National Top-10 Placements

Hart County Middle School and Hart County High School TSA (Technology Student Association) teams gather for a photo at the 2022 National TSA Conference in Dallas, Texas. 

Hart County High School and Hart County Middle School TSA (Technology Student Association) teams traveled to Dallas, Texas last week where they marked multiple top-10 finishes in the country.

The 2022 National TSA Conference was held last week from June 26-June 30 in Dallas, Texas at the Gaylord Texas Resort and Convention Center. Students from around the country, representing various-sized public and private schools, went head-to-head in competitive events centered around technology.

Competing against the best in the nation, two Hart County High School teams and one Hart County Middle School team earned their way into top-10 placements. 

Hart County High School’s “On Demand Video” team placed 5th in the nation. The team consisted of Gelsey Aguilar, Lexi Wheless, Zoey Heard, Melody Blomberg, Katie Sanders, Tykira Partlow, Laurel Griggs and Kylie Seawright. For the “On Demand Video” competition, participants had to write, shoot, and edit a 60–second video onsite during the conference.

Hart County High School’s “Webmaster” team earned 10th place in the nation. The team consisted of Cassidy Gaines and Peyton Gaines. For the “Webmaster” competition, students had to design, build, and launch a website that features the school’s career and technology/engineering program, TSA chapter, and the chapter’s ability to research and present a given topic pertaining to technology.

Hart County Middle School also had a group finish in the top-10 nationally with a 4th place finish in the “Video Game Design” competition. The team consisted of rising ninth-grade students Riley Gaines and Ethan Stovall. In the “Video Game Design” competition, students are tasked with developing a game that reflects the theme for the year. The game must have high artistic, educational, and social value and be interesting, exciting, visually appealing, and intellectually challenging.
