HCCS Receives Financial Excellence Reporting Award 7 Years Straight

For the seventh consecutive year, the Hart County Board of Education is being recognized statewide for excellent financial reporting.

The Hart County Board of Education was recently honored with the “Award of Distinction for Excellent Financial Reporting” from the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts for Fiscal Year 2021.

The award marks the seventh consecutive year the Hart County Board of Education has earned the distinction.

“This is quite an honor…It’s a very in-depth audit. Each year they move into the board office and they take over. They complete their audit here,” Superintendent Jay Floyd said at the meeting. “This audit is for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021. This is the seventh year that Hart County Charter System has received this award. I would like to recognize some stellar performers who work in our finance department and say thank you to them.”

Superintendent Floyd recognized the financial department members as stellar performers at the June 20 regular meeting of the Hart County Board of Education. Financial Department members recognized include; Donna Jones, Finance Director, David Seagraves, Facilities Director, Annie Skelton, Payroll, Kayla Fleming, Accounts Payable, Jennifer Skrecz, Nutrition, Robin Isom, SHES, Sherry Dobbs, HES, Lisa Bucksot, NHES, Robin Ely, SHES, Rebecca Floyd, HCMS, and Tracy Dorsey, Special Education.

An award of distinction is presented to organizations that submit quality financial statements and supporting documentation in a timely manner, whose annual financial report is given an unmodified audit opinion and is free of any significant deficiencies or material weakness, and comply with all Transparency in Government Act requirements.
