Each teacher was selected by faculty and staff members at his or her respective school.
“Congratulations to the five Teachers of the Year for the Hart County Charter System. They deserve this award, and I am very happy that they have been rewarded such an honor from their peers,” said Superintendent Jay Floyd. “A teacher’s job is to impact knowledge to his/her students and make them a better person. They have worked diligently for the betterment of the students of Hart County.”
The five school-level Teachers of the Year will complete an application process, based on the National Teacher of the Year Program application. One will be chosen as the Hart County Charter System Teacher of the Year and nominated for the Georgia Teacher of the Year Program.
“Excellence in education affects not just the students but the entire community,” said Superintendent Floyd. “If you have the opportunity, please take time to thank these teachers for setting the standard.”
A special luncheon to honor the Teachers of the Year will be held in November. During the luncheon, the System Teacher of the Year will be announced.
