  • 2nd Semester Virtual Learning Information

    As we continue to work through the COVID pandemic, please be aware of the following options for students for 2nd semester that will start on January 6, 2020.

    Registration for 2nd semester virtual learning will begin on November 1, 2020 and will close at 5:00 PM on November 12, 2020. Please read the information below about your child's options.

    1. All students will be considered face-to-face learners in January unless the survey linked below is completed prior to November 12, 2020.
    2. Students that choose virtual learning, must register by the November 12 deadline. This applies to those that have been virtual learners throughout the first semester (August-December 2020).
    3. For current K-5 virtual learners:
      1. Your child will be physically placed in a classroom within his/her home school unless you register for virtual learning using the link below prior to November 12th. 
      2. If you register your student for virtual learning, he/she may have a new teacher.
      3. If your student plans to return to face-to-face learning, he/she will be placed in a classroom, and you will be notified of his/her placement on or before January 5th.
    4. For current K-5 face-to-face learners:
      1. You may choose virtual instruction for January through June by registering prior to November 12th. Use the survey link at the bottom of the page to register.
      2. Assigned teachers may change for those continuing face-to-face instruction due to first semester’s virtual students physically returning to schools.
    5. For current 6-8 virtual learners:
      1. Your child will be physically placed in classrooms at HCMS unless you register for virtual learning using the link below prior to November 12th. 
      2. If you register your student for virtual learning, his/her teachers and/or schedule order may change.
      3. If your student plans to return to face-to-face learning, you will be notified of his/her teachers and schedule order before class begins on January 6th.
    6. For current 6-8 face-to-face learners: 
      1. You may choose virtual instruction for January through June by registering prior to November 12th. Use the survey link at the bottom of the page to register.
      2. Assigned teachers and/or schedule order may change for those continuing face-to-face instruction due to first semester’s virtual students physically returning to schools.
    7. For 9-12 current virtual learners:
      1. Your child will be physically placed in classrooms at HCHS unless you register for virtual learning using the link below prior to November 12th. 
      2. If you register your student for virtual learning, his/her teachers and/or schedule order may change.
      3. Options for courses may be more limited for virtual learners. 
      4. If your student plans to return to face-to-face learning, you will be notified of his/her teachers and schedule order before class begins on January 6th.
    8. For 9-12 current face-to-face learners: 
      1. You may choose virtual instruction for January through June by registering prior to November 12th. Use the survey link at the bottom of the page to register. Please know that options for courses may be more limited for virtual learners.

  • HCMS Cell Phone Policy - Revised 09/04/2020

    Student cell phones are banned during the instructional day.

    Student phones must be powered off and out of sight during the instructional day. Phones are to be powered off when entering the building and are not to be turned back on until students exit at the end of the instructional day. 

    Student phones are prohibited in the restrooms.  When students leave the classroom to go to the restroom, phones must stay in the classroom.

    Faculty/staff may have their cell phones with them during the day.  However, at Hart County Middle School cell phone use is prohibited by teachers and staff members for personal use while assigned to students or during teaching instructional times.

    The principal will have full discretion to update this policy at any time as deemed necessary for the good of the HCMS community.

     

    Please refer to the student agenda/rule book for consequences related to this policy.
