Title I Planning Week
All parents are invited to participate in the annual Title I Planning Week at Hartwell Elementary, North Hart Elementary, South Hart Elementary, and Hart County Middle School. These schools throughout the system receive Title I funds.
Parents will have the opportunity to provide input on the school’s Schoolwide Plan, Parent/Family Engagement Plan, and the School Compacts. Parent/Family Engagement activities and funds for these activities will be discussed, along with discussion of Building Capacity activities. All plans are available on each school’s website.
We need parents to participate with school staff members on the last 3 days (June 7th, 8th, and 9th) of the Planning Week from 8:30 – 3:30. Please call or email the school to inform the principal or assistant principal as to what day(s) you can participate. If you can’t be a part of the process all day, please join in with the school staff for whatever period of time that you are able to do so. Your input and participation are important.

Schools Seek Input on Planning
Hart County Charter System officials invite citizens to give their input on the Hart County Charter System’s 2023 - 2024 CLIP LEA Plan (CNA -- Comprehensive Needs Assessment & DIP -- District Improvement Plan). These documents are the basis of how the school district will budget and spend federal funds to enhance the academic achievement of all students.
In addition, officials are seeking input for the 2023 - 2024 Title I Schoolwide Improvement Plans and the 2023 - 2024 Hart County Charter System Parent/Family Engagement Plan. Parents and community members may review the 2022 - 2023 documents and provide input on changes that should be considered for the coming school year. The plans, along with feedback forms, are available for review on the school system’s website at www.hart.k12.ga.us. To access the documents, click on Programs/Federal Programs/Title I Documents. Please email any feedback to one of the two email addresses listed here by April 28, 2023: lbennett@hart.k12.ga.us or lamar.scott@hart.k12.ga.us.
For more information, contact Lydia Bennett, Assistant Superintendent, or Lamar Scott, Title I Director, by email or by phone at 706-376-5141.

On August 19, the Georgia Department of Public Health issued new guidance for school districts regarding COVID-19. These new procedures will begin on Monday, August 23.
If a student is exposed to COVID-19, the parents will be notified via SchoolStatus. Exposed students will be required to wear masks at school and on buses for 14 days. The district will provide masks to those in need. Masking will allow continued participation in in-person learning, extracurricular activities, and school-sponsored events.
If you choose not to wear a mask you will have to quarantine at home for the 14-day period. While at home, students will not be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities or school-sponsored events.
As new guidance becomes available, procedures will be reviewed. Our goal is to continue in-person learning. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we continue to navigate the 21-22 school year!
