Hey! I'm Shawna Rogers, the media specialist here at NHES. I received my B.S. degree from Emmanuel College, my M.Ed. and Ed.S. from Piedmont College, Gifted Endorsement from Pioneer RESA, Media Certification from the University of West Georgia, and am currently obtaining my Certification in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia. I have taught 17 years, with 11 of those years here at NHES. In my spare time, I love to go white water rafting, traveling, the theater, cheering on my Clemon Tigers, and of course, going to Disney World with my family!

     Media Center Hours:

    Mission Statement:
It is the mission of North Hart Elementary's Media Center to guarantee that students and staff, have access to and are effective users of information and to promote life-long learning.

The purpose of our media center:
The media center at North Hart has been established to provide users with print, non-print, and digital information resources needed to promote lifelong learning and a love of reading. The collection reflects the needs and requests of our media center patrons along with the consideration of literary interests and information needs. The common core standards are an integral part of our media center, so the collection will also support and be designed to reflect those standards. It is the goal of the NHES media center to integrate current and emerging technologies into the curriculum so students are prepared for 21st Century information literacy skills.

The goal of the library program is creating students who are information literate. The student who is information literate:
*Develops skills and knowledge as an active locator and user of information to solve problems and to satisfy their own curiosity
*Grows as a lifelong learner and appreciates various forms of literature
*Uses information in responsible and creative ways

    Our Vision:
North Hart Elementary's Media Center is focused on creating a collaborative community that supports the curiosity of teachers, students and parents through research, exploration, imagination, technology and creativity.
