Degrees and Certifications:

Coach Wilson

Welcome to Coach Wilson's HCMS Teacher Page!

Just some information so you can get to know me...

I graduated from Madison County High School.  After graduation I decided to go into the work force and worked at The Hartwell Company from 1987-1993.  During that time I decided to go to college and attended Truett-McConnell College and later Piedmont College graduating in 1995 with my teaching certification.  I am currenlty in my 24th year of teaching .  My teaching career began in Wrightsville, Ga teaching 6th grade Social Studies.  After one year teaching away from the area, I was hired in Hart County where I was the In-School Suspension Supervisor and PE coach for several years.  At HCMS, I have taught 7th grade Social Studies and 8th Grade Georgia History.  Currenly I teach 7th grade Social Studies.  In addition to teaching Social Studies, I am the HCHS JV Baseball Coach/Varsity Assistant.

I am married to Kathy Wilson who is the HCMS Media Specialist.  We have 3 children:  Madison(22), Hunter(18), and Samantha(10).  In the fall of the year you will find me in a deer stand when I am not teaching or watching the Braves.  In the spring, when not at school teaching or at baseball, I try to get to the woods to track down some gobblers!  Fishing is also a very relaxing hobby for me.

It it my goal to not just teach Social Studies to my students, but to also teach them how to be productive citizens in the world that they face now and in the future.

Parents are always welcome to email me with questions or concerns regarding their student!
