Mr. Brooks Mewborn, Associate Superintendent

Mr. Brooks Mewborn is a lifelong Hart County resident and a 1991 graduate of Hart County High School. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Emmanuel College before going on to earn his Master's degree in Health Sciences from the University of Alabama as well as Dual Educational Specialist degrees from Piedmont College and Georgia College & State University in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership.
 
Starting out as an elementary classroom teacher, Mr. Mewborn has previously served as the Graduation Coach at Hart County Middle School and Hart County High School, Assistant Principal at Hartwell Elementary School, Principal at North Hart Elementary School, and most recently as the CTAE Director/CEO of the Hart College and Career Academy. In 2017, North Hart Elementary received the National Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School of Excellence distinction under Mr. Mewborn’s leadership. His 23 years of service in education have all been spent in the Hart County Charter System. In addition, Mr. Mewborn has coached varsity football, baseball, and girl's basketball.
 
Residing in the Reed Creek community, Mr. Mewborn is married to Heather Mewborn, a Hart County Middle School 8th-grade teacher. The couple have three children; Preston (20), Peyton (16), and Pearce (15).
