    Job Description

    POSITION TITLE: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hart College and Career Academy (HCCA) and/or CTAE Director

    ADMINISTRATIVE RELATIONSHIP:  Reports to Board of Directors of Hart College and Career Academy, Principal of Hart County High School and Superintendent of Hart County Charter System

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Valid Educational Leadership Certification in Administration and Supervision (preferred, but not required)
    2. Significant experience in leadership position in partnership development and career preparation programs is highly desired

    JOB GOAL

    To provide leadership in developing and maintaining viable partnerships with business and industry and the best possible educational programs and services at Hart College and Career Academy. To provide the best educational opportunities for students, provide direct supervision of HCCA staff, develop positive academy and community relations, and create a culture of high student achievement and a focus on preparing students for careers and post-secondary options

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Assumes responsibility for cooperative and continuously improving partnerships between HCCA, the school system, colleges, local community, and the business community
    2. Supervises the academy’s educational program and works cooperatively with appropriate staff in the development, revision, improvement, and evaluation of the curriculum and instructional programs
    3. Develops and implements HCCA policies, methods, and procedures
    4. Coordinates the academy’s administrative and instructional operations and assigned personnel
    5. Manages and accounts for all public and private assets of the Hart College and Career Academy
    6. Represents the Board of Directors as a liaison between HCCA and education, business, and industry
    7. Communicates with HCHS Principal, Board of Directors and Superintendent as necessary and/or appropriate
    8. Coordinates with instructional staff to identify needed instructional materials and equipment, prepares annual budget, and approves purchase requests and assumes responsibility for planning and submission of annual budget to Board of Directors and HCHS Principal.
    9. Attends professional meetings, conferences, and workshops to maintain professional knowledge/skills and create networking and collaboration opportunities
    10. Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all state and local policies and regulations by the academy’s staff and students and plans, implements, and evaluates programs and procedures for the health, safety, compliance, and welfare of the students
    11. Works cooperatively in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, supervision and evaluation of the academy’s instructional and support staff as defined by board policy and regulations and recommends personnel actions to the HCHS Principal and HC Superintendent
    12. Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, affording due process rights to students
    13. Assumes responsibility for curriculum development, supervision and evaluation of personnel, school plant management, maintenance of sound school discipline, and a positive learning environment
    14. Develops long-term relationships with post-secondary institutions such as Athens Technical College, Clemson University, and other units of the Technical College System of Georgia and the University System of Georgia
    15. Identifies and implements on-going fund raising efforts of the HCCA Board of Directors
    16. Develops, promotes, and ensures the collaboration/implementation of the instructional, intra-curricula, dual/joint enrollment, Work-Based Learning and other community-based programs housed in the academy
    17. Coordinates with Hart County High School to plan and develop a master schedule for most effective use of personnel, facilities, and resources
    18. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the Board of Directors and the Principal

    POSITION FUNCTIONS:

    -Supervise the School Nutrition Program and staff

    -Ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations governing food preparation, serving and storage

    -Accountable for the administration of the fiscal budget, procurement, equipment, supplies and safety standards

    -Plan, organize, control and direct system wide food service operations and programs; develop and implement menus, goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to system food service programs

    -Effectively utilize system technologies

    -Participate in professional conferences, in-service sessions, and other trainings to keep abreast of current practices

    -Provide in-service and training for all staff in compliance with professional standards

    -Operate the programs in accordance with federal/state guidelines and local Board of Education regulations and policies
